Let's Making a Plotting Board!

I added something to the "Fun Stuff" section of the site.

Every time I start a new book, I make what my family calls “Mom’s Scary Serial Killer Tracking Board.” Or a “plotting board" if you're less judge-y.

I basically take over the dining room table with my index cards and red string in a re-enactment of a Dateline NBC investigation board. The method probably sounds exhausting but it's super-helpful and it's a big part of my process. I have spent entire week-long writing retreats mapping out projects this way.

I apologize in advance for the handwriting shown, it’s terrible.  It's always been terrible. 

Also the skeletons shown in the photos are merely decorative. I was informed by the Halloween decor committee that moving them while I was working could cause major disruptions to our home’s energy flow.
